At UNICEF, we say children are everyone's business. The ive of UNICEF's newly launched Better Business for Children (BB4C), an evolution of the children's rights and business and business advocacy, is to connect business, governments, academics and experts in children's rights and corporate sustainability, to inspire awareness, action and innovation for children and to create visibility and action for respect and support of children's rights in the workplace, marketplace and community.

How can you make a difference?

We are looking for an intern to support the launch of Better Business for Children (BB4C). The work will be primarily in supporting the line research, translation and documentation of key tools and guidelines. This includes:

  • English to Chinese translation of key tools, including:
  • Children's Rights in Impact Assessment
  • Children's Rights in Policies and Codes of Conduct
  • Stakeholder's Engagement on Children's Rights
  • Support in the line research and translate the research report and study report into English
  • ICT & Electronic company mapping for direct CRB engagement
  • Support the line research results and report launch event in November/December
  • Support the BB4C – Responsible Marketing to Children event during China International Import Expo (CIIE) on Nov 7
     

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • University studies at undergraduate or graduate level in English and translation, or in the area of research or corporate social responsibility.
  • Previous volunteer/intern experience is desired but not necessary.
  • Fluency in English and Chinese.
  • Good computer skills.

Duration and Conditions:The internship will run for six months from November 2018 to April 2019. We would expect you to be available to work from the UNICEF Beijing office on 3-4 days per week but will be flexible to enable the concurrent continuation of studies. This internship does not come with a monthly salary but will offer a unique opportunity to make a difference and to get a first-hand experience in UNICEF's work on child rights and corporate responsibility.
