THANK YOU to each and every one of you who participated in World Children’s Day!
From Auckland to Amman, from Nairobi to New York, there were kids takeovers and famous landmarks turning blue in support of child rights and marking 30 years of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Throughout the day, children and young people spoke out and called on leaders to fulfill their commitments to fully realize children’s rights. And we’re not stopping until every child has every right.
Why it's important
Over the past 30 years, children’s lives have been transformed…
More than 50%
reduction in deaths of children under 5 since 1989
the proportion of undernourished children since 1990
more people have cleaner drinking water today than in 1990
...but urgent action is needed to make sure every child, has every right.
children and youth are out of school
