Ms. Yingzi Liu is the founder, vice president and secretary-general of the Chengmei Charity Foundation. She used to be a lead anchor on a domestic television station. After Ms. Liu’s sister died of cancer in 2010, she left journalism to work full-time in public service, and founded the Chengmei Charity Foundation. Over the past decade, she has led the team in many areas of public welfare, including education, health care, culture, and environmental protection. Her foundation has identified and helped disadvantaged groups, carrying out more than 160 projects that benefit the country. Ms. Liu is now expanding her work to many other countries. According to Yingzi, “Philanthropy projects need to be more specialized in design, co-ordination and implementation". In 2019, she became a UNICEF China “Champion for Children" to work together to promote the rights and well-being of children.
