Appointment of Aaron Kwok as UNICEF Regional Ambassador

HONG KONG, 2 October 2011 – The Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF announced today the appointment of Mr Aaron Kwok, renowned artist and entertainer, as UNICEF Regional Ambassador for the East Asia and Pacific Region.

Aaron is a regional celebrity known for his talents in the recording and film industries. Since 2009, he has actively put his popularity and personal influence to work in support international children issues for UNICEF.

Judy Chen, Chairman of Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF and Geoffrey Keele, Communication Specialist for the UNICEF East Asia and Pacific Regional Office jointly presented the Certificate of Appointment to Mr Kwok today, in the presence of Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF Vice Chairman Johnny Ng and Fundraising Committee Chairman Gilbert Mo.

"I believe all children deserve our greatest love and care, no matter who they are, where they live.  With my expanded role, I am committed to contributing more time and efforts to help UNICEF accomplish the challenging work of building a better world for children," said Aaron  Kwok.

The newly appointed Regional Ambassador Aaron Kwok has a strong track record of work with UNICEF. In the summer of 2009, Aaron visited Northern Thailand, one of the least developed areas in the Region and helped mobilize resources for education projects there. He has continued to mobilize significant support for UNICEF through various celebrity and partner events.
